He finished very strongly though with a record of 6-2 and an ERA of 1.83 in September-October. This finish likely was very fresh on the voters' minds. Rogers in contrast was 9-3 with a 1.87 ERA through June and was not so dominating after that... People have short memories.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805246453926595119.post-22198098441730823542014-06-10T21:30:58.933-04:002014-06-10T21:30:58.933-04:00Yeah I thought about that one, but Carlton had ove...Yeah I thought about that one, but Carlton had over 100 more strikeouts and led the majors in wins, complete games, shutouts, innings, K's, and most importantly, FIP. Rogers has the edge in ERA and WAR as well as a slight edge in WHIP, but overall I feel that Carlton's season was more dominant and thus more Cy Young worthy.Tyler Maherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11438482483164686481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8805246453926595119.post-49973379850014219742014-06-10T18:28:10.113-04:002014-06-10T18:28:10.113-04:00Not necessarily egregious, but what about Steve Ca...Not necessarily egregious, but what about Steve Carlton over Steve Rogers in 1982?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
