U Jimmie Foxx Hate to leave out Paul Waner, Goose Goslin, Hank Greenberg, Al Simmons and Chuck Klein
RHP Dizzy Dean
LHP Lefty Grove Beats out Carl Hubbell
Ummmm... Babe Ruth.
ReplyDeleteAnd again Hank Greenberg.
Ruth retired in '35 and did his best work in the Twenties. He declined pretty steadily after 1930. Still a great hitter but I wanted to use the slot on a Great Depression star like Averill.
ReplyDeleteGreenberg was great, just not quite as good as Gehrig or Foxx. Hate leaving him out, but there's just no room for him.
Stan Hack and Harlond Clift both were better than Rolfe at 3B during the '30s.
ReplyDeleteI would have replaced Medwick and Averill with Klein and Dimaggio.
